This holiday season beautiful stars are gracing international red carpets in luxuriously opulent gowns. Marking a definitive return to old school Hollywood glamour, these big screen sirens live by the mantra, “More is more!”

Cameron Diaz, whose steady relationship with pop sensation Justin Timberlake has long preoccupied the media, recently released her new movie, In Her Shoes. Adapted from Jennifer Weiner’s best selling book, the film tells the tale of two sister’s comedic journey to self discovery. Diaz, who plays the free spirited Maggie in the irresistibly cute chick flick, has been traveling across the globe to promote the project. And everywhere Cameron goes, she can be seen wearing a pair of beautiful stilettos; true to the title of the motion picture.

Although, vermillion is not the only hue that has the capacity to make a lasting impression. Evocative of snow capped mountains, an off-white outfit specked with hints of silver, can also culminate a winner look. Certainly, Scarlett Johansson, Uma Thurman and Keira Knightley seem to think so.

As the bombshell secretary Ulla (not a far stretch) in the Producers, Thurman flaunts her amazing figure at every turn, but for the NYC premiere of the film she opted for a prim and proper Chanel piece. Conversely, new generation icons-in-the-making, Scarlett and Keira, opted for sexier pieces, accentuating curves, when they surfaced in LA and London respectively. Regardless of the sizzle factor, all three choices were simply spellbinding.

Celebrities are undeniable fashion leaders. Chic and stylish all year around; these modern days royals truly flaunt their taste for flair this time of the year. Thus, during the holidays; do as the stars do and embrace glamour with open arms. Trust Fashionlines, you will not regret it.

Speaking of gorgeous actresses; Academy Award winner Charlize Theron just headlined a sci-fi thriller called Aeon Flux. Though the big budget production did not meet critical acclaim, many ticket buyers said that seeing the South African goddess in form fitting superhero ensembles was worth the fare. On the other hand, here at Fashionlines, we certainly prefer the sparkling Christian Dior couture gown by John Galliano, Theron wore to film’s LA premiere.

Thankfully, not all movies of the season, featuring gorgeous belles, are bound to be flops. In fact, Reese Witherspoon’sWalk the Line, chronicling legendary singer Johnny Cash’s life, is anticipated to get several Oscar nominations. Playing June Carter opposite Joaquin Phoenix, Reese delivers a most convincing performance -- worthy of praise. Nonetheless, Mrs. Witherspoon’s ability to dress ever more so elegantly, without coming across as ostentatious, is just as impressive as her acting skills. Case and point: The stunning crimson dress, embellished with a black ribbon belt, she wore to the picture’s NY premiere.

Without a doubt red is the color to don this time of the year. Festive and smoldering, the color of passion and Santa alike, is destined to turn heads at every Christmas party and New Years gala. Take daytime TV queen Oprah Winfrey’s couture evening gown for example. Could a dress have any more pizzazz and star power?
