PARIS, October 5, 2005 - In the old days, Stella Cadente used to be sweet and
ultra-feminine, almost sugar coated in an Alice in Wonderland look. These
days, it's hard to know exactly what it's about - especially when the opening
tableau vivant, staged with seven gyrating models, looked to have been taken
from a Wagner opera. Rhine Maidens aside, the show held on Wednesday morning
was interesting.
Sauvignon Blanc-green lamé, pleated chiffon and pastel dresses
overlaid with beads formed the core of the collection. The overall
theme, however, remains a mystery.
