By Christine Suppes, Editor In Chief

“A woman who is tired of high heels is tired of life.”

Gil Carvalho is committed to an innovative and dynamic design ethic. One of his beliefs is “No feature of a woman’s wardrobe is more constantly flattering than the stiletto.”

Having studied architecture, Gil’s affinity for structure and design led him to enroll at Cordwainers, where he could indulge his creativity in the world of fashion and more specifically in the perfection of the stiletto heel. Gil cites his influence as Vivienne Westwood, under whose tutelage Gil found himself when he left college. Gil credits his time with Westwood as “the most exciting and creative time, It is no wonder that Vivienne Westwood is a design force of such magnitude”.

This latest collection continues to explore the relationship between a woman and the stiletto, combining beautiful leathers with exquisite colors. It is aimed at the modern woman who is “self possessed and believes in her freedom to choose”.

Recently, Deborah Arthurs of the Mail wrote: “If Gil’s success continues his name will soon be as evocative as those of Choo, Blanik and Louboutin” .
