PARIS, March 1, 2006 - Andrew GN has attracted somewhat of a cult following
with his sharply cut overcoats and trenches. At Wednesday's show they took
the spotlight. Fur foamed around the neck and timmed the sleeves, while
sprays of jet beads made for fanciful filigree or sparkling ornaments.
GN's somber color palette of black, gray and tan was broken only by a pale
rose coat and a long dress confected of tiers of chiffon ruffles in the same
color. While the 2006/07 winter collection was far more somber than those of
previous seasons, it also was more concise - staying to one theme and
speaking it convincingly.
