PARIS, March 2, 2006 - The challenge for the House of Leonard is the same
each season. How do you take an all print collection and make it look other
than monotonous? You can attempt to do so, as was done for Fall 2006, by
sprinkling on crystal, folding in pleats, adding plumes to epaulettes and
changing the color scheme. Of particular interest was the series of royal
blue velour ensembles, largely solid with only bands of print running around
the sleeves. The resulting collection was fluid and feminine, and by all
accounts a success with the company's primary market - the hoards of French
women of a certain age that chatter incessantly throughout each show.
