PARIS, January 28, 2006 - Armand Basi, who hails from Barcelona, showed
his collection early on Saturday in the foyer of the Opéra Bastille.
Guests were offered fresh raspberry juice and petit fours in a lobby
framed with a panoramic view of the Paris skyline.
The beautifully styled show featured models with a waist size seemingly
equivalent to female counterparts, and with chiseled features that looked
to have been taken from carved alabaster.
The pieces were warm and wooly: knit arm warmers, scarves, head bands, ski
masks and quilted jackets. Key chains dangled from the waist while aged
leather pants looked hearty enough to stand up to the cold weather
outside. The wintry palette of slate and charcoal occasionally gave way to
chartreuse and forest green.
