PARIS, January 30, 2006 - South Korean designer Wooyoungmi sent out a military-inspired collection rich in detail and dark in wintry blues. Double breasted ornamental buttons streaked down the front of jackets, epaulettes ornamented the shoulders, and the richness of crushed corduroy trousers contrasted with abundance of gray tweed found almost everywhere else. One overcoat was worked with a double rounded collar, while an evening suits was overlaid with a back panel of gray flannel. A bright gold wind breaker sparkled amid the somber palette of slate, tobacco, rust and royal blue.
With so much talent, Wooyoungmi is a designer who deserves a wider audience and considerably more attention from the international press corps.
