With ingenious graduates like John Galliano, Julien Macdonald, and Alexander McQueen earning a well-deserved reputation for being some of the most innovative designers in the industry today, the school indeed commands a tremendous prestige. In line with the high expectations set by its own precedent CSM continues to churn out staggering new talent, the ranks of which Fiona Sinha and Aleksadar Stanik have recently joined. The dynamic duo may have lost the highly coveted Fashion Fringe Award by a thread, but the first collection they showcased for Fall 2005 is a testament to the fact that they can cut and construct like the best of them.

Sinha Stanik’s button through dolman-sleeve crinkle-cotton dresses belted with self-fabric sashes, herringbone tweed wide-legged trousers featuring hip-level vertical pockets and up-turned cuffs, Empire-waist chiffon dresses accentuated by frilly epaulettes and wool tailored jackets with single button fastening, long inset sleeves (rolled to the elbows) and wide revers reflect a design genius and artistic sophistication that defy a rookie collection. However, the color palette chosen by Fiona and Aleksandar is rather heavy on reserved solid colors. In addition to gray, ivory, black, and navy throwing splashes of zingy hues to the mix would accentuate the youthful core of Sinha Stanic.
