COCO--NUT CUPCAKE

At a time when most Americans are reevaluating the fundamental values that define who they are and/or losing sleep over their next door neighbor’s perspective on nuclear proliferation, Coco Kliks comes to the rescue by reviving the innocence of the 50s. Casting aside the enormous stress induced on our national consciousness by the overwhelming weight of the presidential election, Ms. Kliks reminds us how good it felt to anticipate prom night, watch hot dogs sizzle on the BBQ, and walk through a traveling fair on a warm summer evening.
By commencing her show with an all American Nebraska
bustier and Missouri circle skirt glowing with spotless
propriety so reminiscent of ice tea and sugar cookies in the afternoon,
Coco Klicks embraced retro-wholesomeness. Making ample use of red,
white and blue in her adorably youthful creations like the
Texas dress, Georgia wrap top, Ohio bermuda shorts and Vermont
pants the designer celebrated fashion 4th of July style.
However, it was Cocos demure yet flirty horizon suits and barometer dresses
adorned with lace eyelets that mirrored the maturation of her work.
Cut and constructed with great attention to detail these
ensembles flatter the feminine silhouette just like a young man in love flatters
the object of his affection.
The collection’s finale came with a cotton candy pink party dress embellished with lace appliqués
and hand-sewn sequins. Delightful and charming to the core this piece was truly the lip-smacking
icing on the cake.
