Before her show Sheri Bodell described her Spring 2006 collection as, “Vixens and Starlets from 1960’s movies. Sexy Brigitte Bardot slip dresses, Marianne Faithful blouses and Mia Farrow minis.” Surely, the designer’s new look was a significant divergence from her earlier works. This season Bodell’s trademark smoldering temptresses, clad in leather and lace, were replaced by beautiful young girls dressed in immaculate neutrals.
The overall feel of the line is romantic simplicity with a tantalizing twist. Plunging necklines, sheer fabrics and short-short hems all allude to the fact that the Sheri Bodell girls may not be as innocent as they seem, but they sure are willing to play the part.
