Iron designer Leejay translates his paintings onto fabric and form as an alternative medium of communication. This spring the talented artist was inspired by, “the colors that are above us; moving around a woman’s shape, like the planets move around all of us.” The result of this unlikely vision was a psychedelic kaleidoscope of brilliant hues dancing around the contours of the female form.
Even the names Leejay gave his creations (such as Vortex, Eclipse, Solar and Aries) were out of this world. The clothes themselves however were strikingly contemporary and wearable - especially in a melting pot like Los Angeles, where the freedom of expression reigns supreme.
This spring Iron’s halter, tank, cowl neck and strapless dresses will redefine funky, giving the age old concept an astrological spin.
