Eduardo Lucero’s collection received a standing ovation. The audience’s response to the designer’s twill corsets, silk georgette gowns, and Pucci inspired bikinis was the most enthusiastic I had witnessed all week. Clearly Eduardo Lucero is very gifted when it comes to creating for his target audience.
Mr. Lucero described his new body of work as “bold, burnt colors with a South Western flavor and a bit of disco infusion.” To Fashionlines editors however his pieces conjured up images of what Joan Collin’s character might have worn if the wildly popular TV series, Dynasty, was still running today.
Eduardo’s clothes have a Hollywood glamour feel. His cuts, silhouettes, constructions and details have a larger than life essence. These collapsed sleeve dresses, tuxedo gowns, graphic print georgette flared pants, and asymmetric blouses bank on the theatrical effect some ladies cannot live without. And might we add there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
