PARIS, October 6, 2005 - Marithé and François Girbaud, the French wife and husband design team, could be called the green party of fashion. They have previously developed environmentally sound synthetic fabrics, experimented with laser cuts, and even have grown miniature rain forests in their boutiques worldwide. So, it came as a surprise that Tuesday's show was full of technically advanced designs that verged on contemporary chic. From a flared bodice to lingerie inspired tops, the collection was both artistically sound and commercially viable.
