pierre cardin opens new museum

November 14, 2006 - Pierre Cardin has opened a museum dedicated to his work in an old garage in Saint-Ouen (a suburb of Paris that was ground zero for last year's civil unrest). More than 700 pieces are arranged by theme and year of creation. In total, 130 mannequins display selections from the couturier’s 60 years of design. From his Dior years to the conquest of outer space, all of Pierre Cardin interests are represented. Beginning in December, the museum, which has yet to be officially named, will exhibit furniture designed by Cardin, and will be open to the public, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 2 until 5 pm.
