¡VIVA CUSTO!
By Sedef Kokcuoglu
LA, October 25 - For Spring/Summer 2005 Custo Dalmou abandons his trademark geometric patterns in bold hues. Dalmou’s departure from the Andy Warholesque feel of his previous collections marks his discovery of the irresistible allure of casual chic. This season opting to cast his new creations in pretty pastels like vanilla, mint, baby blue and soft pink the talented Spaniard celebrates the beauty of coy charm, understated elegance and weightless grace.
When speaking about his new body of work Dalmou exclaimed that his clothes are, "a tribute to far away destinations and the cultured travelers that visit them." Indeed the designer’s delightful floral print safari jackets, polka dot cotton tanks, abbreviated boleros, lace circle skirts, metallic finish sundresses and sequined bikinis are just right for an island get away. Sans sultry or overtly sexual elements these clothes are jubilantly dynamic, colorfully youthful, and invigoratingly fresh.
