Sweet & Sour
PARIS, October 6 - Stella Cadente, whose ultra-feminine collections once resembled crystallized rose petals, has moved on to citrus fruit.
At Wednesday's show, an opening medley of lemon-yellow outfits sprinkled with silver quasars, moved on to more outfits juiced up with tangerine and mango. A Thierry Mugler-esque 5-point star eventually rose upon a deep azure skirt.
Gone were the gauzy Alice in Wonderland quasi-couture creations, replaced by more commercially viable pieces.
Deciding what should be sweet and what should be sour requires a master chef. Though, generally speaking it's a balance of the two that earns stars in the Michelin Guide.
