Gharani Strok’s new collection entitled Ransom was a quirky homage to "a ballerina, fallen from grace, escaping to meet her rock star lover. Wearing his sheepskin and leather gloves, the motorbike lover makes a quick escape from the scene of the crime. The rebellious attitude echoes a spirit from Patti Hearst and Bonnie and Clyde. Fresh from the big hold-up - she covers up only to reveal her seductive eyes in blaze of conspiracy and espionage."

Worthy of the Hollywood inspired storyline; the label’s new creations were steeped in thrilling possibilities. Slinky silks and slippery chiffons juxtaposed against sturdy wools - predominantly in black- caught the eye with shimmering metal accents and carefully cut out panels. Double breasted trench coats, worn with berets, infused a “Viva la Revolution” sensibility into the mix.

In the end, the Gharani Strok girl turned out to be an innocent doll, toying with rebellious ideas. But don’t expect her to desert to the other side, just yet.
